Day Nine: Grand Tetons

Clearly we were enamoured with our hotel and its steamy environs, and we spent the morning kicking around. The late start afforded us less time in Grand Teton National Park, located south of Yellowstone, but what we saw truly made the jaw drop:

Nice work, planet.

We also stopped at the Jackson Lake Lodge, which is very 1950s, kind of government office/U.N. building meets a woodsy forest nook. Cool.

In search of a little pick-me-up, we found the hotel's all-diner Pioneer Grill -- there are no tables, just rows and rows of retro-style counter seating -- and chowed down on a World Famous Teton Treat. Who said man would never best the Tetons? We ate that thing in like six bites.
